How this works

The years/months/days figure counts full calendar units the way you'd count on a calendar (so Jan 15 to Mar 10 is 1 month, 23 days, not just a raw day count divided up). If the end date is earlier than the start date, the two are swapped and the result is shown as the time between them either way.
