How this works
Volume is length × width × thickness, converted to cubic yards (the unit ready-mix concrete is usually ordered in). Bag counts assume standard 60 lb and 80 lb pre-mixed bags, each covering a fixed volume once mixed -- for anything beyond a small patch or footing, ordering by the cubic yard from a ready-mix supplier is usually cheaper and less work than bags.
